Mountie’s son endures cross-examination at child-abuse trial
The lawyer spoke, but it was the father’s voice.
All the love allegedly lavished upon the now-13-year-old boy by the parents accused of torturing him was thrown back in his face Tuesday during another day of cross-examination.
“Looks like you were having a good time.”
“He was including you.”
“That picture shows you being loved.”
For hours the father’s defence lawyer, Robert Carew, showed picture after picture of the smiling boy with his dear old dad — the same man who admitted in a February 2013 police interview to binding, beating and burning the half-starved boy.
“Again, this picture looks like you’re having a great time,” Carew said.
