Nepean: How much experience does an MP need?
An entrepreneur, a politician’s assistant, a playwright and an IT security worker, walk into a bar in the Nepean riding.
Ok, it would be a lame joke.
But these are the choices Nepean voters have been given – a slate of candidates with vastly different experiences, ranging from the behind-the-scenes prowess of political operatives to the creative inspiration of a playwright and the technical background of an IT worker.
“The House of Commons is given that name for a reason,” said Jean-Luc Cooke, Nepean Green Party candidate and an IT security worker.
“It’s supposed to be a house for “¦ people who lead common lives who are representatives of the people of Canada.”
Andy Wang, the Conservative candidate, previously worked with Pierre Poilievre for five years, leaving some wondering how much of an advantage that gives him over his competition.
