Ottawa police search for man after boy reports sexual assault in park
Police are searching for a man in his late 40s or early 50s after a teenage boy reported he was sexually assaulted in an east Ottawa park on Tuesday afternoon.
The teen told police a man pushed him to the ground and tried to take off his clothes while he was walking through Loyola Park around 3:45 p.m. The teen managed to get away from the man and ran home, police said.
The suspect is described as a male, standing between five foot six inches and five foot seven inches tall, between the ages of 47 and 52. He has a muscular build, chin-length brown hair and brown eyes, police said.
He was unshaven and wearing a black V-neck T-shirt, jeans and prescription glasses with a black frame at the time of the alleged attack. The teen said the man spoke English with a raspy voice and smelled of body spray.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5944 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
