Max Keeping’s legacy as broadcaster, philanthropist remembered on social media
The death of longtime Ottawa broadcaster and noted philanthropist Max Keeping has led to an outpouring of tweets from people remembering both his journalistic integrity and his passion for charitable causes.
Keeping, 73, died after a long battle with cancer.
He spent 38 years anchoring CTV Ottawa’s 6 o’clock newscast before retiring in 2010, and when he wasn’t behind the newsdesk Keeping was a tireless fundraiser for causes and organizations like the Canadian Cancer Relay for Life and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
