Annual Run for the Cure event raises 850,000
Thousands of participants gathered at Tunney’s Pasture to raise awareness — and a whole lot of money — to find a cure for breast cancer.
Organizers say they raised $850,000 for breast cancer research at Sunday’s 24th annual CIBC Run for the Cure.
More than 5,500 participants showed up to participate in a five-kilometre or one-kilometre walk or run.
“I’ve never seen the site with that many people on it,” said Susan Enns, a co-director of the run.
