International observers study election in wake of changes to Canada’s laws
The federal election in Canada is unfolding under the watchful eyes of a team of international researchers with members from places as far flung as Mongolia.
The Organization for Security and Economic Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) has a six-member research team here in Ottawa.
The observers arrived in Canada this week and are currently working in an office in Little Italy.
They are observing the election in response to recent changes in this country’s election laws, such as the hotly debated Fair Elections Act.
