‘Ottawa’ Police Seek Help to ID Pedestrian Killed in Downtown Collision
Police are appealing for help in identifying a man who was struck and killed by a pickup truck in downtown Ottawa Friday afternoon.
The man was struck near the intersection of Preston and Rochester streets around 2:14 p.m., and witnesses said they saw the man leaving a nearby coin-wash laundromat shortly before the collision.
The man was not carrying identification.
He is described as a balding Caucasian man between 45 and 50 years old, standing six feet tall and weighing between 240 and 250 pounds, with a stocky build and light-coloured hair. He was wearing grey shorts and a grey T-shirt.
Police believe he may have resided in the area.
Paramedics arrived to find the man without vital signs and suffering from multi-system trauma and head injuries. He was taken to The Ottawa Hospital trauma centre in critical condition.
Police continue their investigation.
