‘Ottawa’ Chief Orders Full Review of Mountie Child Torture Case: ‘What Did we Know at What Time
Ottawa’s police chief has ordered a full review of how investigators handled allegations of child abuse from a nine-year-old-boy, who was sent back to live with the father who chained, tortured and starved him in a darkened Kanata basement.
After learning police had visited with the victim of a horrific case of child torture more than a year before the extent of the abuse came to light, Chief Charles Bordeleau wants to know “exactly what steps were taken and what did we know at what time.”
According to court testimony, the boy had first escaped his confines in 2011. A neighbour called police, who eventually returned the boy to the abusive home, where he endured another 15 months of suffering in his family’s dungeon-like basement.
