‘Ottawa’ Trump Vows Power to the People
Take a deep breath. It’s a done deal. Donald J. Trump is now President of the United States of America. He’s the leader of the free world.
And the sky didn’t fall. Everything is just fine.
“We are transferring power from Washington, DC, and giving it back to you the people,” Trump said at the inauguration in his first address as president, just minutes after taking the oath of office. “When America is united, America is totally unstoppable.”
The inauguration was a dignified affair. Trump called the Obamas “gracious” and “magnificent”. It was, as Democrat Charles Schumer said at the podium, a “peaceful transition of power.”
Although try telling that to the rioters who smashed the windows of banks and the protestors who blocked uniformed Air Force officers from heading to the inauguration.
