‘Ottawa’ Thousands Jam RCMP Facility to Check out Musical Ride Horses
Thousands of people crowded into the RCMP Musical Ride Centre on Sandridge Road Saturday and to check out the popular animals before the team sets out its cross-country tour in celebration of Canada’s 150th Anniversary.
The huge show animals are popular with kids of all ages, and there were lineups for photos both with the horses, as well as at the joke stands where kids and adults could pose with their faces on a cutout of an RCMP rider.
There was no admission charge to the event, but visitors were generous in their gifts for the Ottawa Food Bank. Food bank officials said early tallies indicate about 6,500 pounds of food were donated.
