‘Ottawa’ Canada Deploys Another 460 Soldiers for Quebec Flood Relief
Another 460 soldiers from the Kingston area will join flood relief efforts across Quebec Wednesday, bringing the total to nearly 2,300.
Federal Transport Minister Marc Garneau made the announcement in Gatineau as he toured the flood zone.
And Garneau defended the speed at which the federal government approved military aid.
He said the decision happened “within 30 seconds” of receiving a request from Quebec.
Garneau says there will be a safety analysis of bridges that are federal property when the water drops.
In the meantime, he has a request for the public to keep drones away from the flood zone.
More to come.
