Ottawa’s City Manager still not budging on LRT Phase 2 bidder scores
Some Ottawa city councillors may want to dredge up the LRT Phase 2 builder contracts again, but city’s staff isn’t budging on its stance surrounding the scores it handed out.
A memo was issued on Wednesday morning by Steve Kanellakos, regarding the contracts and the process that went into deciding on the winning bidder.
The memo explained that confidentiality exists in the bidding process in order to preserve the integrity of the bids.
Kanellakos noted that the city’s Fairness Commissioner and a Legal Advisor were present for every step of the process.
Some councillors, including Diane Deans, Shawn Menard, Jeff Leiper and Riley Brockington were expected to open up the discussion surrounding SNC-Lavalin winning the bid to build part of Phase 2 at Wednesday’s council meeting.
As of noon Wednesday, there had been no word on whether or not any those councillors still intended to bring it up.
