It’s crunch time in golf, a time of year where important money is up for grabs and plans for next season can be sealed up.
On the top circuits in men’s and women’s golf, Canadians have much on the line over the next few weeks — whether it’s taking a shot at a playoff run or securing a spot in the top rung of the sport for the ensuing season.
Here’s a look at where Canadians stand at a pivotal point on the calendar:
PGA TOUR
The ninth version of the 125-player FedExCup Playoffs will feature a heavy dose of Canadian content as four Canucks are slated to tee it up at the Barclays in New Jersey starting Thursday — Brantford’s David Hearn, Graham DeLaet of Weyburn, Sask., (who is planning to play for the first time since his RBC Canadian Open was cut short by a thumb injury) and Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor of Abbotsford, B.C. As a result of their top-125 regular-season finishes, all four will be back on the PGA Tour next season.
