67’s eager to start pre-season
Despite the fact that muggy temperatures have made the TD Place arena look like the 1975 foggy Stanley Cup finals game between the Buffalo Sabres and Philadelphia Flyers this week, the 67’s will officially kick off their pre-season at home Friday night.
With the late-summer heat wave wreaking havoc on visibility during three days of 67’s training camp, the appetite for hockey seems to be slowly returning to the capital now that September has arrived, judging by the number of people who showed up to watch intersquad games on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
On Friday night, those fans and at least a couple thousand more will get their first chance to watch the Barber Poles play someone other than themselves for the first time in months, with the Gatineau Olympiques crossing the bridge for the first exhibition game of the pre-season schedule.
