67’s beat up by Steelheads
The Ottawa 67’s dropped their second-straight game to start the season as the Mississauga Steelheads picked up a 7-0 win.
And it wasn’t pretty.
With Ottawa’s Liam Herbst getting a rest before Sunday’s home-opener, Leo Lazarev picked up the loss in goal Friday, giving up four goals on 21 shots before being replaced by Herbst, who would give up three.
After hanging around the night before in a 5-4 loss to the Peterborough Petes, the 67’s never got going in Mississauga and things went from bad to worse. Nathan Bastian scored just before the 13-minute mark of the first period to give Peterborough a 1-0 lead before the Petes exploded for three goals in the second courtesy ofJosh Burnside, Brendan Harrogate, Marus Dickerson and Daniel Muzito-Bagenda.
