Ravens win Panda thriller
For the second year in a row, the Carleton Ravens won a Panda Game thriller on Saturday.
The Ravens finally sealed it on the second possession of overtime, notching a 48-45 win over the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Michael Domagla’s 14-yard field goal before 17,596 at TD Place.
The Ravens won last year’s inaugural Panda Game at TD Place on a Hail Mary on the final play.
With Saturday’s win, the Ravens improved to 4-2. The Gee-Gees dropped to 2-3.
The game was tied 38-38 after regulation before both teams scored touchdowns on the first possession of overtime.
The Gee-Gees took a 30-24 halftime lead.
The Ravens jumped into a 7-0 lead after D’Sean Thelwell intercepted a pass deep in Ravens territory. Running back Jahvari Bennett ate up big chunks of yardage and QB Jesse Mills found Kyle VanWynseberg for a touchdown pass. Mike Domagala made it 10-0 with a 43-yard field goal.
