Ottawa Senators win wild one in shootout
It was pouring on the outside but there was no raining on the Senators parade inside at the Canadian Tire Centre.
It wasn’t pretty, however, it sure looked that way as the Senators struck for three goals in the third period to halt their four-game winless streak at home as Mika Zibanejad scored the winner in a 5-4 shootout victory over the struggling Calgary Flames Wednesday night in front of 16,923.
The two teams combined for five goals during a wild third period. Calgary goalie Jonas Hiller left after a collision with Ryan in the third and was replaced by Joni Ortio. For 40 minutes this game wasn’t very good but both teams picked up the pace in the third to make it entertaining.
