‘Ottawa’ Wolstat Makes His Picks for the NBA all-star Game Starters
The NBA switched up its all-star voting process this year, giving players 25% of the vote and a select media panel another 25%.
It was a way to cut down on some of the nonsense that can happen when popularity or national loyalty skew the process. It’s a way to lower the odds of a Zaza Pachulia (or John Scott in hockey) starting and making the league look silly.
Picking five starters from each conference is not an easy task. There are a lot of deserving players and a couple of choices were quite difficult. Advanced metrics and team success were weighted heavily in making my selections.
