Senators’ loss shows work still to be done
The Senators had trouble taking off and then they couldn’t finish.
The Senators pulled out to a 3-0 lead Tuesday night and then they let it slip away in an ugly 4-3 OT loss to the at the MTS Centre as Mark Scheifele scored the winner three minutes into the extra period as the Winnipeg Jets completed the comeback with four straight goals on goaltender Andrew Hammond.
This wasn’t a normal day by any stretch for the Senators. They skated in Ottawa in the morning and then took an afternoon charter to Winnipeg. They only arrived at the rink about 90 minutes before the game because they were delayed on the ground in Ottawa due to a minor mechanical issue with the plane.
