Kevin Pillar hopes to stand tall in post-season
Kevin Pillar is looking to save his best for last as in the playoffs.
A superb defensive player, the Jays centre fielder turned it on in the final month of the season in all aspects of his game and hopes that will propel him through the post-season.
Over the final month, Pillar hit .333 with 12 runs scored, 12 RBIs and eight stolen bases while in the final two weeks hit .538 with five stolen bases.
“I feel like for the last couple of weeks we’ve been playing in a post-season atmosphere so I think it’s good for everyone to experience,” Pillar said of the sold-out crowds the final month at Rogers Centre. “It’s great for me to have experienced playing meaningful games, big games and to be able to come through has given me a lot of confidence moving forward to the next part of our season.”
Pillar could be one of those players that takes a giant step forward in the post-season and makes his mark on the national stage. He certainly has the game.
