No shortage of turkeys in election so far
The 2015 election has had more than its fair share of turkeys.
As the long campaign rolls through Thanksgiving weekend and towards the finish line, here’s a recap — in no particular order — of the top 10 turkeys during the last 10 weeks:
Conservative Leader Stephen Harper, the NDP’s Tom Mulcair and Liberal Justin Trudeau agreed to stop going to Toronto Blue Jays games after the team tanked every time one of those turkeys showed up to watch.
Harper, Mulcair and Trudeau made separate stops at the Rogers Centre in the weeks leading up to Labour Day to catch a ball game.
Jays fans squawked when the federal leader hex became apparent — each time Harper, Trudeau or Mulcair were in the stands, the team ended up losing.
Each leader ended up promising, via Twitter, that they’d avoid games for the rest of the election.
And for that, we gave thanks.
NDP Leader Tom Mulcair was flying high in the polls early in the campaign.
