Public ceremony to honour Max Keeping at Canadian Tire Centre Tuesday
Local dignitaries, family members and the public will gather at a ceremony honouring the life of former CTV Ottawa news anchor Max Keeping Tuesday at noon at the Canadian Tire Centre.

Keeping died on Oct.1 after a long struggle with cancer. The popular news host was a tireless fundraiser for charitable causes, including the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and the Ottawa Senators Foundation.
The memorial is open to the public and parking at the Canadian Tire Centre will be free.
Speakers will include James Duthie, host of the NHL on TSN, Mayor Jim Watson, Rabbi Bulka and Shane Holley, the son of Max Keeping.
Seating for the public will be available in the arena stands of Canadian Tire Centre, while the arena floor will be reserved for the family and special guests by invitation.
OC Transpo will offer rides at no cost on a first come first served basis to the event, picking up passengers on three buses at Ottawa City Hall at 11 a.m., returning 15 minutes after the end of the ceremony.
The family requests, that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Keeping’s favourite charities.
