Ottawa’s Little Italy remembers Nathan Cirillo forever with plaque
A year after his shocking death in the Parliament Hill shooting, a new plaque in Little Italy will help remember Cpl. Nathan Cirillo forever.
Ottawa’s Italian-Canadian community gathered Sunday at St. Anthony’s Church in Little Italy to remember Cirillo, whose family has roots in Fabrizia, a town in southern Italy.
Claudio Pagani, president of Italian Week in Ottawa, said Cirillo’s death is something to be remembered for the Italian-Canadian community.
Pagani added the funds from Italian Week’s concert in June and other donations — $10,000 in total — had been donated towards Cirillo’s son’s trust fund last week.
