Goudreau had half a million reasons to kill mom: Crown
Rene Goudreau would’ve had to be Harry Houdini to escape unscathed the flaming hell that consumed his ailing mother, a court heard Monday.
Lucie Goudreau died in the early hours of Nov. 27, 2012, burned alive in bed.
Her son, charged with first-degree murder, is accused of sparking the blaze by holding a lighter to her bed clothes.
The woman, a 53-year-old pensioner with debilitating multiple sclerosis, couldn’t get out of bed without help and it’s alleged her son disabled the smoke detector and dragged heavy furniture in front of the door to make sure she didn’t live through the night.
