‘Ottawa’ Man Faces Sexual Assault-Related Charges From 1978 to 1999
An Ottawa man is facing more than two dozen sexual assault-related charges involving three alleged victims between 1978 and 1999, police say.
Ottawa police arrested 63-year-old Derek McKay on Monday, according to a media release issued Tuesday.

McKay was charged with more than 24 offences, including:
- Sexual assault.
- Forcible confinement.
- Committing an indecent act.
The investigation into McKay began in March, police said.
The alleged victims were between 13 and 18 years old at the time of the incidents, which police say took place in Ottawa over a 21-year period, from 1978 to 1999.
Investigators believe there could be other victims.
McKay appeared in court Wednesday and was released on bail. None of the allegations against him has been proven in court.
