Ottawa police guns and gangs unit is investigating a shooting that occurred around 1:40 a.m. on St. Joseph Boulevard in Orléans.
A 28-year-old man was shot several times and taken to hospital in critical condition.
Paramedics arriving at the scene near the intersection of St. Joseph and St. Pierre Street administered advanced care treatment and transported the victim to the Ottawa Hospital’s Civic campus trauma unit.
He was first described as being in critical condition, but his wounds are no longer considered life-threatening.
While police would not discuss the precise scene of the shooting, Earl’s Barber Shop property was roped off with yellow crime scene tape early Thursday.
No arrests have been made and no suspect descriptions were immediately available. It was the 28th case of gunshots being reported in the city this year.
