‘Ottawa’ Man Walks Into Ottawa Hotel, Slams Skateboard Into Head of Clerk
Ottawa police are trying to identify a man who walked into a hotel in April and “without hesitation or provocation” slammed a skateboard into a clerk’s head.
It happened at about 12:39 a.m. on Sunday, April 24, in the lobby of the hotel in the 100 block of Cooper Street, near Elgin Street, police said in a media release issued more than six weeks later. There are a number of hotels on that block, but police refused to say where the clerk worked.
A surveillance video shows the clerk alone at the front desk when a young man carrying a skateboard walks in.
He can be seen walking up to the clerk, then slams the skateboard into the clerk’s head. The clerk falls to the ground and the man runs out of the building.
The victim, an adult man, suffered a cut and a concussion, police said.
The suspect is described as a white man, about 20 years old, standing five feet 11 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. He was wearing black clothes, including a hooded sweatshirt, and the skateboard had a green pattern on the underside of it.
