An Evening with Bryan Raises Money for Cancer Research
The Ottawa Hospital and the Ottawa Senators Foundation hosted An Evening with Bryan Wednesday to honour former Senators general manager Bryan Murray while raising money for cancer research in the process.
More than 500 people were expected to attend the event at the Canadian Tire Centre.
The arena’s ice rink was converted for the guests that included hockey fans, players and alumni.
“I want the room filled with hockey fans and those dedicated to making a difference in the fight against cancer,” Murray had said prior to the event. “After all … we’re in this together.”
Murray was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer in 2014. Since his diagnosis, Murray has campaigned for more men to get colonoscopies, something he said he put off for too long.
