‘Ottawa’ 2 Dead in ATV Collisions North of Kingston, Ont.
Two men are dead after separate all-terrain vehicle collisions with trees north of Kingston, Ont., Ontario Provincial Police say.
The first collision happened Friday at around 10:40 p.m., near the intersection of Boon Lane and Sheila Lane in South Frontenac Township, just east of Sydenham, Ont.
Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the driver of an ATV unresponsive, police said.
Derek John Poulin, 39, of Kingston, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Less than two hours later, at around midnight, officers with the OPP’s Sharbot Lake detachment responded to an ATV collision on Grindstone Lake Road in North Frontenac Township near the town of Plevna, Ont.
Two men were riding side-by-side in an ATV when it collided with a tree, police said.
The driver, 34-year-old Brian E. Golden of Belleville, Ont., was pronounced dead at the scene.
His passenger was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said police.
Both investigations are ongoing.
