‘Ottawa’ Ontario Man Trampled by Horses Saving Toddler at Tweed Fair
A man was treated for injuries to his face after being trampled by horses while saving a three-year-old girl at the Tweed fairground on Saturday, according to Ontario Provincial Police.
Police were called to the fairground around 12 p.m., after a team of horses got away from its handlers into an area of pedestrians ahead of an event.
A 51-year-old Madoc, Ont., man moved a three-year-old girl out of the path of the running horses, police said.
“As a result of his actions, he was trampled by the horses,” police said in a news release.
The man was conscious when taken to Kingston General Hospital to be treated for injuries to his face, and was later released.
No one else was injured, police said.
