‘Ottawa’ Charges Laid in Devastating Desecration of three-year-old’s Grave
In the quiet of the early morning, Alisha Tackaberry and Marc Gemperle knelt by the grave of their three-year-old son, Graysen.
“I let him know that his dad and I were there and we were going to get justice for him. It breaks my heart to think that he was hurt in any way,” his mother said hours later, her tears flowing.
The grieving parents knew what was coming.
Leeds County OPP released the news Thursday that two women are facing charges of committing an indecent act at a single grave site at Oakland Cemetery west of Brockville.
Police are saying little about the allegations now before the courts. But Tackaberry says she was horrified to learn several months ago that a video taken at her son’s grave in the spring was being shared on social media. In it, someone — no faces are visible — squats to urinate at the grave site. Someone else pitches an empty beer can.
