‘Ottawa’ ‘It Was Horrifying to See my Daughter go Flying’: Mother Describes hit-run Collision with Stroller
A mother who watched helplessly as her infant daughter flipped and rolled in a car seat into a Kemptville street says she hopes the driver who hit her child’s stroller and then drove away will turn himself into police.
Jennifer Cunning was walking with her four-and-a-half month-old daughter Millie along a sidewalk on Clothier Street Tuesday when a man in a black car hit the child’s stroller as he exited a parking lot near Sanders Street at about 1:50 p.m.
The collision knocked the stroller on its side and sent the car seat the sleeping baby was strapped into flipping end-over-end and into the road, said Cunning.
“It was horrifying to see my daughter go flying like that. It was something a mother shouldn’t see,” said Cunning, 24. “It went flying into the middle of the road.”
Cunning said she rushed over to her daughter, whose car seat had landed face down in the street.
