‘Ottawa’ Ottawa Firefighters Battle Early Evening Blazes
Ottawa firefighters were called to two fires early Monday evening.
The first incident occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. at a single-family home at 808 Cork St.
Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the basement of the home and were able to get the blaze under control. Damages to the contents and structure are estimated at $250,000.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
A little more than two hours later, crews were called to a building at 258 Argyle Ave., where a fire was reported in Unit 401.
Victim services was called in to assist a female resident displaced by the fire, which caused an estimated $30,000-$40,000 damage to the unit and its contents. Again, no injuries were reported.
