‘Ottawa’ Debris Falling From Ottawa Highrise Briefly Closes market-area Streets
Ottawa police closed two streets just south of the ByWard Market for nearly two hours on Sunday night because of debris falling from a highrise construction project.
Police closed Waller Street from the Mackenzie King Bridge to Besserer Street and Daley Street from Waller to Nicholas Street just after 10 p.m.
Police said the debris had made the area unsafe for both pedestrians and motorists.
Police gave the all clear and reopened the streets just before midnight.
