‘Ottawa’ School Bus Crash Sends One to Hospital, no Children Aboard
Police said no children were aboard when a school bus collided with a minivan in the city’s rural southeast, sending one woman to hospital with serious injuries Thursday afternoon.
Snake Island Road remained closed in both directions from Manotick Station to Swale roads, and Stagecoach Road was closed between Herberts Corners and Cabin roads, while police investigated.
Paramedics said they were called to the scene around 3:15 p.m., and found the minivan on its side with one occupant inside. They treated a 66-year-old woman for multiple injuries and she was rushed to hospital in serious condition.
The bus driver, a man in his 30s, was assessed by paramedics at the scene and released.
Police are asking motorists to avoid the area.
