‘Ottawa’ Capital Facts: The Graves left Behind on Bank Street
In celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday, the Citizen is rolling out one fact each day for 150 days until July 1, highlighting the odd, the fascinating and the important bits of Ottawa history you might not know about.
Graves sit in a grassy lot on the corner of Bank Street and Analdea Drive, formerly the site of a Methodist church and cemetery until the 1930s. The church was eventually torn down and most of the graves were relocated to Johnston’s Corners Community Cemetery — with the exception of those few that still remain, for unknown reasons.
