Ottawa police are asking residents not to leave flammable materials lying around after three fires in Vanier were classed as suspicious by arson investigators.
The fires broke out close together in a period of a few hours early Sunday morning. All were set with what police call “available materials” such as recycling boxes or scrap wood.
The three fires were set at 00:16 a.m. Sunday at Marier Avenue and Deschamps Avenue; 1:07 a.m. at Ste. Anne Avenue and Joffre Bélanger Way; and 3:23 a.m. in the area of 200 Montreal Road.
Police are asking people to watch for suspicious people in the middle of the night, and not to leave flammable materials next to their homes and garages.
