Men in construction gear allegedly invade Kanata home at gunpoint
Police are hunting for two men armed with handguns who allegedly forced their way into a Kanata home and robbed a lone woman Monday.
The pair, wearing spotless construction gear and sunglasses, rang the doorbell of the home on Westover Crescent, which is near the intersection of Huntmar and Campeau drives, around 10:50 a.m.
The men, armed with handguns, forced their way into the house, police alleged. While one controlled the victim, the other searched the place. They left with only several higher-end women’s handbags, heading north on foot, where a vehicle may have been waiting, police said.
The woman was unhurt.
Police said it’s not yet clear if the house was targeted.
The first suspect is an Asian male of medium height and build, with short hair. He was wearing a yellow construction hat, a fluorescent vest over a black jacket and yellow and black Stanley work gloves.
