‘Ottawa’ London Calls: Snowsuit Fund Gets Ready to Party
When movers and shakers care about their city and the folks who live in it, good things happen.
Ottawa’s Snowsuit Fund committee is behind Bash 2016 London Calls, a posh fundraising soirée on June 10 that may just raise the roof at Lansdowne’s Horticultural Building. Celebrating all things British, including a “Royal Guard” to welcome guests, there will be a London-themed tavern, a Beatles cover band and a VIP High Tea party.
Brits have a fun eccentric sense of style and are known for their pretty fascinators, plaid and mixing of textures and patterns. Here’s your chance to channel your inner Amy Winehouse, Alexa Chung, Mick Jagger or a member of the royal family.
“Expect to be wowed. We’ve got so many wonderful surprises,” says committee member Tami Varma of TC & Co. Event Design.
VIP tickets (8 p.m. to 10 p.m.) include an open bar, food stations, entertainment and swag bags. Doors open at 10 p.m. for those with general tickets. In 2015, more than 16,000 snowsuits were handed out in the Ottawa area.
