It was a step up in class for which the Raptors just weren’t ready.
The Indiana Pacers and the Miami Heat are on one level with maybe marginal separation from one to the next. The Cleveland Cavaliers are a totally different animal.
For about six minutes in the first quarter the Raptors looked like they belonged in that class.
There were moments after that initial foray, but none of them were sustained for very long, as the Cavs went where they wanted, did what they wanted and scored as many as they seemed to want in a 115-84 thumping in this first game of a best-of-seven Eastern Conference final.
