Slain Wilno woman an ‘avid horsewoman’ at career crossroads: Friend
Anastasia Kuzyk worked hard to project a professional image as a realtor even while she was thinking of a career change to follow her passion, working with horses.
“She was just a lovely woman. So very, very down to earth,” said Neville Lockyer, who knew Kuzyk for about four years.
Kuzyk, 36, was killed at her home in Wilno, a hamlet in the Ottawa Valley about 180 kms northwest of Ottawa.
She had worked recently as a realtor in Pembroke, selling homes throughout the Ottawa Valley. But she was at a career crossroads, Lockyer said.
“She was torn between staying in real estate and doing what she really loved – working with horses.”
She rode horses and groomed them. She had been on recent job interviews with stables, looking to turn her passion into a career, Lockyer said.
“She was an avid horsewoman. That’s how I’d describe her.”
