Ottawa paramedics, firefighters perform cliff rescue on Stonebridge Trail
A 69-year-old woman is being treated in hospital after she fell about seven metres down a cliff by the Jock River on the Stonebridge Trail, according to the Ottawa Paramedic Service.
Paramedics and fire crews were called out just before 1 p.m. on Sunday. They found the woman about 800 metres from the main road.
Rescuers were able to reach the woman using ropes and used an all-terrain vehicle to get her to an ambulance.
She was treated for a leg injury and head lacerations at the scene. Rescuers also took spinal precautions.
Ottawa Paramedic Service.says she was stable when she arrived at the hospital.
