‘Ottawa’ Car Crashes into Ottawa Residence Lobby
A car crashed into the ground floor lobby of University of Ottawa’s Rideau residence building Friday evening, but no one was hurt.
The incident occurred at the corner of Rideau Street and King Edward Avenue, in a building that used to be a Quality Hotel. It now serves as a university residence.
The car apparently swerved to avoid colliding with another vehicle, and careened into the ground floor of the residence, through some wood and glass doors that used to be part of a Don Cherry’s restaurant. The driver, a woman in her 50s, was not injured.
