Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club hosts Canadian Curling Club Championships late this year
The Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club will host the 2021 Everest Canadian Curling Club Championships scheduled for Nov. 28-Dec. 4.
The event includes 14 men’s and 14 women’s teams from 10 provinces, three territories and Northern Ontario. The 2020 edition was initially scheduled at the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club, but was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Canadian Curling Club Championships are for recreational, club-level curlers who don’t have the time or resources to compete at the high-performance level. Hunt Club hosted it in 2015, when teams skipped by Newfoundland and Labrador’s Andrew Symonds and Prince Edward Island’s Lisa Jackson won the men’s and women’s division chamjpionships.
The Everest Canadian Curling Championships were last held alongside the Home Hardware Canada Cup in 2019. The teams led by Paul Moffatt of Waterloo, Ont., and Nanette Dupont of Lethbridge, Alta., are defending champions.
