‘Ottawa’ OPP, Coroner, Probe Death of Four-year-old Wendover Boy
Police were awaiting results of an autopsy Thursday, a day after a four-year-old boy died in hospital following a medical distress call to paramedics from a home in Wendover.
Hawkesbury OPP were called to the home at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. The boy, whose name has not been released, was later declared dead at Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
Const. Janice Sawbridge, a spokeswoman for the OPP, said it was not uncommon for any death that does not take place in a hospital to be the subject of an autopsy.
The OPP’s lead investigator in the case was scheduled to attend the autopsy, she said. Sawbridge said it might take several days before the coroner’s conclusions were released.
