Cameron expects Ryan to be one of his best players
Dave Cameron has high expectations for the top players as the Senators prepare to start the regular season.
Not only does he think winger Bobby Ryan should help lead the charge this season, he wants the likes of captain Erik Karlsson, centre Kyle Turris, winger Mark Stone, goalie Craig Anderson and veteran defenceman Marc Methot to follow suit in the pursuit to make the playoffs.
Asked about Ryan specifically before Tuesday night’s visit to the MTS Centre, the Senators’ coach noted one of the club’s top wingers has to contribute.
“He’s a big part of our team,” said Cameron. “If our team is going to reach its ceiling, Bobby Ryan has to be one of our best players start to finish.”
Cameron said that expectation is fair.
