‘Ottawa’ Carleton Ravens Look to Soar to New Heights in 2016 OUA Football Season
It’s easy to forget just how lopsided the Carleton Ravens’ 2013 football season was.
In Carleton’s first year back in the Ontario University Athletics league following a 14-year absence, the Ravens lost all eight contests and were outscored 390-95.
In the past two seasons, however, the Ravens have improved to 4-4 and 5-3 before producing Carleton’s first playoff victory in a generation against the Queen’s Gaels.
Expectations continue to rise.
The Ravens gave perennial power Laval Rouge et Or a scare before losing 36-29 in overtime in a pre-season contest last weekend, and they’ll find out much more about what they’re made of with Sunday’s OUA season opener against the host McMaster Marauders and their Sept. 4 home debut against the Western Mustangs.
