‘Ottawa’ Carleton Ravens stun Western Mustangs in OUA Football Action

In two meetings since their return to Ontario University Athletics football, the Carleton Ravens had been outscored 141-18 by the Western Mustangs.
In their home opener on Sunday night at MNP Park, the Ravens closed to within one on the only scoreboard that matters — the win column — with a stunning 38-31 victory.
It was a game of massive shifts in momentum, with Carleton scoring the first 24 points, Western the next 31 and the Ravens the final 14.
The winning points came with two minutes 45 seconds to play in the fourth when Wilson Birch caught a 12-yard pass from Jesse Mills and Michael Domagala added the extra point after the hosts had gone 49 yards on five plays.
The game was finally decided in the last minute when Carleton stopped Western on a third-down gamble inside the five-yard line.
