‘Ottawa’ Trio Rescued fro Roof, 8 Homeless After early-morning Fire in Gatineau
Flames were coming out the door and windows of an apartment building on Rue Lambert in Gatineau when firefighters arrived shortly after 3 a.m. Tuesday.
The first responders on the scene had to rescue three people from a roof as they rapidly brought the fire, which started in one unit, under control.
A total of eight people from four units were being helped by the Red Cross by the time the situation was under control just after 5 a.m.
A smoke detector alerted the residents to the fire, which caused an estimated $80,000 in damage.
The cause is under investigation.
