Ottawa International Airport Ranked Second in North America in 2015
The Ottawa International Airport is part of a six-way tie for the second-best airport in North America, according to the Airports Council international 2015 rankings.
Ottawa’s airport scored higher than it did in 2014, with improvements coming in overall business traveller satisfaction, wait time at passport/ID/security inspection, Internet access/Wi-Fi and courtesy/helpfulness of staff.
“The silver medal is a testament to the passion and customer service commitment of the entire airport community,” airport authority president and CEO Mark Laroche said in a statement. “I’m also proud to see our individual scores in many service categories improve year over year.”
The Indianapolis International Airport took the gold medal in this year’s rankings.
Saskatoon International Airport was named the most improved airport in North America.
Seoul Incheon and Singapore tied for first among the world’s busiest airports (over 40 million passengers per year).
Among other winners: London Heathrow was best large airport in Europe (over 40 million); and Guayaquil, Ecuador, was best airport overall in Latin America-Caribbean.
The ACI Airport Service Quality program is based on assessing passengers’ satisfaction at over 300 airports worldwide, covering elements such as check-in, security and food and beverage options.
